“Société des Produits Alimentaires et Menagers Yordan Obegi s.a.l.”, later to be renamed Obegi Foods s.a.l., was incorporated in 1959. What grew to become the Obegi Consumer Products group of companies could not have done so by limiting itself to marketing in Lebanon imported products solely. Our first industrial venture happened in 1974 when, together with detergent giant Henkel KGaA, Obegi Foods purchased a small detergent factory in Zouk Mosbeh, Lebanon. Henkel Lebanon s.a.l. today is a fifty / fifty joint venture between Henkel KGaA and the OCP group which has production facilities in both Lebanon and Syria through its affiliate Henkel Syria s.a.s., with capacities of producing thirty five thousand tons of detergent powder and eight thousand tons of liquid cleaners per annum.
In 1984, the OCP group erected in Lebanon its food processing plant, Dove Processing s.a.l., for the purpose of producing most of the already launched products under OCP's house brand Al Wadi Al Akhdar, today's number one food grocery brand in Lebanon exported to more than 35 countries. Continuous product improvement, innovation and responsiveness to the market are corner stones of our philosophy.

In order to monitor growth within stable business relationships with OCP's customers, a credit committee, consisting of representatives from sales, finance and our legal department meet twice a month. This committee observes movements of our customers' accounts in order to regulate them with a view to allow for healthy growth, thus creating a perpetual win win interaction at this particular level.
